Hotel Room

Lost within herself
Hiding in a darkened corner
Her heart is drowning in fear
As if she is lost somewhere

These Lights
Which don’t have bright
And they don’t treat her right

She feels like her heart is a tiny hotel
People check in and check out
Some leaves without a trace
Other leaves a mess

Still, she enjoyed the race
From the closing walls
Inside the shirking halls

Sometimes she thinks about the penthouse
On top of the floor
And her heart
Which is reserved
And when you check in She personally comes by
And when you’ll check out

She’ll not ask why
She’ll call taxi
And wave you goodbye
With a smile on her face
And tear on her eye
She’ll send you off
Until the next hi…
